Donating to the Collections

We have the wonderful donors of the past 100 years to thank for the majority of our collections. We appreciate your donations and believe it is our duty to keep them in the best environment and share them with the community. If you wish to donate something to our archives or museum collection please fill out the form to the right and we will be in contact.

Scope of the Collections:
The Society will collect objects germane to the past and present history of Shelter Island as well as objects in which a relationship to Shelter Island has been established. The purpose of the collections is to support the mission of the Society to collect, preserve, research and share Shelter Island’s history through educational programs and exhibits. The Society’s permanent collection consists of historical artifacts, archives, pictorial archives, sound archives, and a research library.
