3. The Archives
The Archives forms the heart of the History Center. It houses over 100,000 maps, deeds, diaries, books, letters, photos, works of art, and other historical documents and ephemera, spanning the 17th through 21st centuries. (Larger artifacts such as furniture, tools, housewares, paintings, textiles, and vehicles are stored in the Center’s lower level, attic, and barn.) The vault, which is climate and humidity controlled, keeps the documents safe from mildew and moisture.
(Continue down the stairs to the Lower Level.)
